The Best Days Are Spent On The Water
Myself and my son completed our RYA powerboat 2 with Dexter recently. He was knowledgeable, good at explaining things and made the whole course a great experience. We had plenty of time to practice everything that he had taught us and didn’t move onto the next thing and he was confident in our ability and we were confident we had mastered the skills. I have also now booked for my daughter to do the same course and would encourage anyone looking to do this course in Palma book with this company. They are a small family business and you can tell with the personal touch they offer.

Experience Real-World Training with a Powerboat Course in Palma, Mallorca
There’s no better classroom than the sea, and no better location than Palma. Mallorca’s capital isn’t just a postcard-perfect place – it’s one of Europe’s top training grounds for boaters. Crystal-clear water, steady weather, and a bustling marina at Club de Mar mean you’re learning in real-world conditions, not just going through the motions. It’s the kind of place where every Powerboat Course feels like real-world experience.
What Sets Us Apart?
Plenty of schools will show you how to pass a test. We show you how to drive with confidence. Our instructors aren’t just certified – they’re seasoned. People who’ve logged serious hours at sea. And because no two students are the same, we tailor our teaching to your pace and your plans. Want a qualification? No problem. Want to prep for work on a superyacht, tackle choppy conditions, or finally understand what tides are actually doing? Let’s get to it. Our Powerboat Courses aren’t about box-ticking. They’re about building real confidence.
Choose Your Powerboat Course
Most people start with the RYA Powerboat Level 2 – it’s a solid, two-day course that mixes the theory with proper time on the water. Whether you’re booking your first Powerboat Course or refreshing your skills, we’ve got options. We also offer private coaching, refreshers, and advanced sessions. Short on time? Based here long-term? Doesn’t matter. We’ll work around your schedule and make sure your Powerboat Course fits your life.
Local Knowledge, Global Recognition
When you train in Palma, you’re not just gaining local experience. You’re working towards internationally recognised qualifications. Our courses are accredited by the RYA, which means your certificate is valid pretty much anywhere that matters. Completing a Powerboat Course here in Palma sets you up for global opportunities. Whether you’re renting a boat in Europe or working as crew, it’s the licence that opens doors.
What a Powerboat Course Day Looks Like
It’s relaxed, but focused. We start with a coffee and a quick briefing, then head straight for the boats. You’ll spend your morning practising slow-speed control, manoeuvres in the marina, and some basic drills. Each Powerboat Course day blends hands-on drills with practical theory. After lunch (usually dockside), we push things further – heading into open water for higher-speed work, emergency stops, maybe even a spot of navigation. It’s real training. You’ll feel it.
What You’ll Learn
- Launching and recovering a boat
- Boat control at different speeds
- Navigation and tides
- Safety equipment and procedures
- Collision regs (IRPCS)
- Emergency actions and drills
Everything you’d expect from a quality Powerboat Course – from tides to safety drills.
This isn’t just “tick-the-box” stuff. This is what keeps you and your crew safe when the conditions change.
Near Playa de Palma?
If you’re staying in Playa de Palma, you’re just a stone’s throw away. Our boats are moored at Club de Mar, which is a short hop from most of the big hotels and resorts. A lot of our students use a holiday as the perfect excuse to get certified – it’s a smarter souvenir than a fridge magnet. We’re close by, making it easy to fit in a Powerboat Course during your stay.
Who’s It For?
We’ve trained all sorts – total beginners, yacht crew, families, solo travellers, even retirees who’ve just bought their first boat. Ages range from teens to 70-somethings. No big egos, no pressure. Just people looking to learn something useful, and have a good time doing it. We tailor every Powerboat Course to your level – whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned boater.
Why It Makes Sense to Do It Now
Let’s be real – boating’s not getting looser with regulations. These days, you’re expected to show proof of competence whether you’re renting a boat for a day or applying for marine roles. If you’ve got plans for the summer, or a yacht charter in your sights, now’s the time to get your paperwork sorted.
Our Boats, Our Home, Your Advantage
We train out of Club de Mar – one of the finest marinas in the Med. Our boats are modern, tidy, and properly looked after. From here, we’ve got direct access to open sea and sheltered bays, which means your training covers a full range of conditions. Every minute on the water counts. We’ve got the gear, the boats, and the setting – all you need is to show up for your course.
